about

BHR001, first in a series of three, brings together two London cohorts, Tokyo 23 (Martyn Riley) and TWG (Tim Green aka Destroywerk).

The three tracks from Tokoro 23 explores three themes. Family (1926), obsession (ASWGAYW) and Mortality (Cold Black). Katrina Stamatopoulos on violin (1926, Cold Black), became an integral part of the development of these particular tracks.

This set of TWG songs by Tim Green were first made in the early hours of the morning, whilst his eldest son was a few weeks old and the Brexit referendum has just passed. This mixed, hauntingly sleep deprived state is reflected in the music which walks a line between joy, hynagogia and despondency. They were finished two and half years later when his youngest son was a few weeks old again in the early hours. As a nod to the circumstances they were first made under, each track is named after a mythical black dog, typically signifying depression, from English, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
